Touted by Chicago Magazine as one of the “five most anticipated Chicago hotels of 2014,” the Godfrey Hotel is officially opening its doors February 1. Cubist-inspired with a very distinct exterior, the 16-storey building contains 221 rooms, including 12 executive rooms and 27 one-bedroom suites, designed with a contemporary feel. The amenities are sweet too and include extras like complimentary Wi-Fi, plush robes, and L’Occitane bath products.
On-site there’s also a spa with two private treatment rooms and a state-of-the-art 24 hour fitness centre. You won’t have to leave to hotel for food either with a full-service restaurant on the first floor. But the real buzz is surrounding the hotel’s fourth-floor 15,000 square foot I|O Rooftop Lounge, with a retractable roof, two-level fire pit, and uninterrupted views of Chicago’s skyline.
Location-wise, the Godfrey Hotel is in the city’s River North neighbourhood (also known as the gallery district), which conveniently borders the Magnificent Mile and is near Millennium Park and the Harbor.
With the opening around the corner, the Godfrey is offering some great specials and packages, including a “Dollar Suite Upgrade,” which allows guests who book between February 1 – April 14, 2014, to upgrade to a luxury suite from a standard king guest room for only $1 more. Visit their website to see all deals.
