It’s hard to believe there’s never been a yoga studio in Toronto’s downtown PATH — until now. Opening July 2014, Yoga Be is the brainchild of Laura Baron, a former Bay Street lawyer who traded in her suit for Lycra and hasn’t looked back. “I had bouts of back and neck pain, my digestive system was constantly in knots, and I never had enough time to travel to yoga studios across town,” says founder Baron. “Yoga Be is my solution for the busy downtown core; offering a life-enriching practice that is easily accessible and works with the chaotic schedules of urban professionals.”

Located in Toronto’s unique PATH system, an underground shopping complex with more than 50 buildings and 28 kilometres of retail space, Yoga Be is conveniently found a short walking distance from St. Andrew and Union subway stations and near hotels including The Ritz-Carlton and Intercontinental Toronto.

With classes available Monday to Saturday, some of the best sessions for busy professionals include “Better Than a Coffee Break,” lasting 20 minutes and do-able in your work clothes, and a lunch hour “Computer Back” class designed to help with your posture and relieve tension from sitting at your desk all day. Not to mention 45-minute “Essential” classes designed so you can stretch out during your lunch break.

A perfect complement to the classes is their partnership with Kupfert and Kim, a vegan/gulten-free eatery you can arrange to have your lunch delivered to the studio, so you’re back at the office with a healthy meal.

Whether you’re in Toronto for business and need to chill out or in search of a conveniently-located yoga studio in the city’s core, Yoga Be should be on your radar. A 5-pack class is $95 (+tax).
