Summer is the time for rooftop cocktails and terrace bites — and we can’t think of a better place to do it but in Paris. This summer the Shangri-La Hotel Paris is opening three seasonal terraces, two of which have views of the Eiffel Tower.

Opening July 12 until August 6, 2014, the Shangri-La Rooftop Lounge opens its panoramic terrace on the hotel’s seventh and highest floor in conjunction with Krug Champage. Every evening between 5 – 11:30 p.m. a small group of guests will have the opportunity to sip on champagne while tasting Petrossian Caviar. A truly luxurious experience, we can only dream about! Reservations are required and the rate for 2 guests is €450 (about $650 CDN).

For those who would prefer a little more flexibility in their experience, the Summer Terrace is a cozy option for sipping custom cocktails with a setting that also offers views of the city’s iconic structure. Officially opening July 10 until September 7, 2014, the head barman has designed a range of cocktails using Belvedere Vodka featured on the drink menu. The terrace’s flagship cocktail will be their Asian Dry Belvedere, composed of Belvedere Unfiltered, lemon juice, a dose of dry vermouth infused with rose, lotus, litchi tea and sugar, which promises to be refreshing. Located on the hotel’s first floor, no reservations are required to experience this delightful retreat.

For those of you who are more interested in the food on the menu, La 8 Iéna’s menu will definitely entice you. Their Executive Chef Philippe Labbé has created a diverse menu from light salads smixed salad with crab meat and grapefruit, French and Asian dishes and the Chef’s creation, the Asian-Style Burger: a Cantonese-style duck and crab hamburger.

One of the highlights has to be the restaurant’s ice-cream trolley that features a homemade ice cream and sorbets, with flavours like peaches poached with currant juice and fresh strawberries. Open until mid-September 2014, lunch service begins at noon, with a late lunch menu available, closing at 10:30 p.m.
