After nine long months of renovations, the Grand Hotel Park Gstaad opened its doors December 17 in correlation with their 100th anniversary. Featuring 84 rooms and 6 suites, all with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, all of the rooms have been modernized, but retained the historic location, as well as integrating local materials including pine, oak and stonework into the decor. Added to the lobby is a wine bar Le Caveau, featuring a communal table with room for 12 with wines handpicked by the onsite sommelier. In addition to the wine bar, the hotel also features four other diverse restaurants with Mediterranean, Swiss and fusion cuisine on the menus.
Not to be missed? The over 3,000 square-foot spa area with 10 treatment rooms, an indoor saltwater pool, Turkish bath and saunas, and fitness area. New treatments include the Swiss Chocolate Seduction, featuring a salt and coffee scrub, a Swiss chocolate facial mask, vanilla and macadamia nut aromatherapy, and Mountain Indulgence, which uses regional herbs to relax muscles to help you prepare for another day on the slopes.
If skiing in Switzerland is on your agenda for the winter season, we highly suggest this iconic hotel. In addition to the ski-in/out access, and steps away from the hills, we love the cozy interiors and onsite spa for relaxing after a long day on the slopes.
