Leave it to the city of Los Angeles to get the healthy food at an airport right. LAX is a travel hub that now offers so many options that cater to pretty much every dietary restriction. Here are the best spots to eat by terminal. And as a side note for Canadian travellers, WestJet flies into Terminal 2 (nearly completed $332 million renovation featuring nearly 20 retail and dining concepts, etc.) and Air Canada flies into Terminal 6.
Terminal 2
Slapfish
If you’ve been to Orange County, you’ve likely heard of or know about Slapfish. Seafood is the name of the games here, and fresh, healthy options are on the menu.
Fresh Brothers Pizza & Sandwiches
If you bypass the meat-ladened pizza and the wings, you can opt for health salads, or California-inspired pizzas loaded up with veggies.
Ciabatta Bar
Grab salads, sandwiches and pastas here with lots of vegetarian options and items that aren’t too heavy which is typical for sandwiches and pasta.
Terminal 6
Earthbar
Your one-stop shop for healthy food, acai bowls, and smoothies, whether you’re looking for breakfast or otherwise.
Wahoo’s Fish Tacos
A fave in Orange County, this taco and rice bowl chain has loads of options — both on the healthy side and on the unhealthy side, but your options are decent.
The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck
The beauty of this place is that you can grab a made-to-order breakfast or lunch at this famous California eatery. As long as you stick to healthy choices, you’re good to go.
BLU2o
This restaurant is very Californian, and grabbing something healthy (or non for those looking to indulge) is pretty easy with beachy dishes.
Tom Bradley International Terminal
Real Food Daily
This is hands-down our favourite option. The world’s first plant-based airport restaurant serves up salads, sandwiches, snacks, juice and so much more.
Ink.sack
Michael Voltaggio’s casual sandwich shop has a lot of options to choose from including healthy fare and some vegetarian sandwiches too.
Border Grill
You can’t be in L.A. and not have a little bit of Mexican, and some of the best at the airport is at Border Grill. Again, you can go all out or you can choose healthier options at this popular spot.
Campanile
This is a smaller version of the iconic La Brea eatery right in the airport that offers a petty good selection of healthier options.
