His designs are coveted by the likes of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham — and now, to add to his fashion and accessories empire, Giorgio Armani has opened an impressive hotel in the Middle East hotspot Dubai (Armani Hotel Dubai) with his first foray into travel. Judging from his beach home in Antigua, poised atop a rocky cliff (which we saw a couple of weeks ago), he doesn’t lack sophistication and style when it comes to vacationing (it was an impressive view, even from a boat).
After years of speculation and gossip surrounding the hotel it opened a few weeks ago in Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. The grandeur of the building, along with its location, makes it the perfect fit for the designer, whose designs are equally as luxe. And the hotel’s interior, with dark woods, marble and minimalism, stays true to Armani’s polished sense of style. With 160 rooms, eight restos and lounges (including a dance club), a spa with thermal baths, and boutiques (to buy Armani clothes, of course) you get the feeling you’re living Armani’s fashion lifestyle by staying at this rich hotel. We can’t wait for the opportunity to tuck ourselves into a lush bed in the Ambassador Suite decked with Armani Casa collection furniture and look out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the Dubai skyline. The clean lines, curved walls and natural light give a unique a sense of serenity that allows you to truly relax. And to make it even better, a second Armani hotel is set to open in fashionable Milan next year. We already have our bags packed.
