Hyatt Hotels recently asked the age-old question, “What do women want?” or more specifically, “What do women travellers want?” After spending 18 months conducting interviews with female guests and using one of their properties as a testing ground, the brand introduced a range of services and amenities this past week across all of its hotel and resorts worldwide. Although the services and amenities aren’t limited to women-only, they certainly had women in mind when making the additions.
The additions include:
Communications Cards
One of the first items their research revealed is that women want communication (duh!), so they are now featuring Guest Request Communication Cards in the rooms that will allow their staff to share info with guests on everything from giving a heads up when they’ve cleaned the room, to providing an ongoing dialogue with the hotel during their stay.
Access to Forgotten Items
Another interesting factoid Hyatt discovered in their research — women are much more reluctant than men to ask when they have forgotten a travel essential. To fix this they created “Hyatt Has It,” which is list of personal items the hotel will provide for your — some complimentary, some at a cost and some you can borrow. The list is pretty extensive and includes things like makeup remover wipes, flat iron, tea kettle, phone charger, weight set and yoga mat. See the full list here.
Healthy Food
Like many frequent travellers, their research revealed women were looking for more healthy options on the road. To solve this Hyatt added a new menu, which includes freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, “perfectly portioned” meals, and the option to create your own meal.
Upgraded Amenities
If you’re like us, you probably don’t bother packing your shampoo and conditioner and rely on the hotel to provide you with something good. Thankfully the Hyatt gets this. They have upgraded their bath amenities to include KenetMD Skin Care, Le Labo, June Jacobs and Aromapothecary across its properties.
