Just in time for awards season, the Ace Hotel Los Angeles has officially opened their doors. The brand’s fifth hotel in the U.S. and second in California (the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs is already uber popular), the opening is the first after the sudden death of their co-founder Alex Calderwell this past November.

Set in the historic 1927 United Artists building and theatre, the resurrection of this space has been highly anticipated. Once a destination for movie premieres during the golden era of the silver screen, the original 1,600-seat performance space will be revitalized and will also have a new screening room.

Featuring 182 rooms, the hotel will also have a rooftop bar and pool, as well as a gym. In keeping with the architectural heritage of the building and the hotel’s eclectic style, they have collaborated with L.A.-based design collective Commune and Atelier Ace.

Other highlights include free Wi-Fi, amenities including Rudy’s Toiletries, Pearl+ soaps and Revo Radios in the rooms, as well as all of the rooms are non-smoking.

Rates start at $209 for a small room.
