The juicing trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon — and it’s not hard to see why. A quick and yummy way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, it’s also been touted by everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Dr. Oz for everything from disease prevention to weight loss. Keeping up with healthy eating is always a challenge when you’re away from home, making juices an easy solution to stay on track.
It appears that hotels are catching onto this movement, including COMO Hotels & Resorts, who announced late last year that they will be rolling out their signature COMO Shambhala juice menu across all of their properties this year. The menu includes 10 beverages, all combinations of fresh fruits and vegetables prepared by the glass with recipes developed by COMO Shambhala dietician Eve Persak. Each beverage has been designed to provide a therapeutic benefit — from balancing to nourishing — the body. For example their Berry Quencher smoothie made with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and green apple, is full of antioxidants to help counteract the effects of aging and stress.
Boutique brand, Kimpton Hotels also just announced they will be rolling out a juice menu across all of their restaurants coast-to-coast, created by Christian Graves, executive chef at Jsix in San Diego. There will be three fresh-pressed 16-oz juice options to choose from including “Being Green” a vegetable-based smoothie made with cucumber, celery, spinach, kale and lemon and “Local Only” which will be the chef’s choice and vary by location.
Forget coffee for a pick me up, it looks like juice is the drink du jour.
