Gansevoort Las Vegas Set to Open on the Strip

Las Vegas will get its first standalone boutique resort in 2014.

There’s going to be a new boutique hotel in the heart of the Strip. Set to open early 2014, the Gansevoort Hotel Group and nightlife owner Victor Drai are teaming up to create an “intimate urban resort” in what was once Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, spending about $185 million to revitalize the aging property.

Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for its intimate hotels, with towering skyscrapers and over-the-top buildings dominating the scene, so the Gansevoort Las Vegas will be leading the trend as the only standalone boutique resort on the Strip.

The hotel will feature 188 Parisian apartment-style guest rooms, including 19 suites. The lobby will feature a lobby bar, ultra-lounge, retail outlets and a 40,000 square-foot casino (this is Vegas). In addition there will be a destination restaurant, which will overlook the Strip.

After hours at the Gansevoort Las Vegas is looking to be pretty hot too. Victor Drai is creating Drai’s Beach Club and Nightclub, a 65,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor nightclub and rooftop pool experience, boasting panoramic views of the city. Drai is also bringing back his legendary After Hours by Drai, who had operated an after hours in the hotel for 15 years, but now offering his guests a new experience. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to once again re-invent and re-invigorate the nightlife scene right where it all began 15 years ago,” says Drai, in a recent press release.

With a fantastic location on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo Road, across Caesars Palace and close to the Bellagio, not only is it in a prime spot, but it’s completely unlike anything else on the Strip. And if the other three Gansevoort properties are any indication of what to expect — both in style and service — we can’t wait.

Opening rates will start at $249/night.
