Our Favourite London Olympics-Inspired Pieces

Our Favourite London Olympics-Inspired Pieces

We can hardly believe today marks the official opening of the London 2012 Olympics and as serious Brit fans, we had to honour this exciting occasion with a selection of some of our favourite London-inspired items — including accessories with the Union Jack, of course. Whether you’re going to be at this year’s Summer Olympics or just cheering on from afar, we suggest you grab something Brit-like to celebrate this momentous event.

1. Aubin & Willis Arnold printed cotton-jersey vest, $60, net-a-porter.com
Designed to honour the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we love the playful spirit of this tank complete with illustrations of the Queen’s Guards marching with drums. Easy to wear with a pair of jeans or shorts, you won’t be out of place cheering in a bar or even on the stands.

2. Mulberry London bus keyring, £125, mulberry.com
You can’t get much more London-classic than sporting a keychain with a red double decker bus, right? Created by London brand Mulberry, the cute thing about this particular bus is that it’s number 94, which is the same London bus route that travels from Mulberry’s London offices to their flagship store on Bond Street. What’s not to love!

3. London Sole Henrietta UK Flag style, $220, londonsole.com
We were sold as soon as we saw this pair of adorable Union Jack flats. Ultra-popular by London girls, celebrities and even royals (hello, Kate), this style has been flying off the shelves since they hit stores earlier this year. A must wear anytime of year, but we definitely want to sport them now.

4. Alexander McQueen Britannia Skull leather box clutch, $1,545, net-a-porter.com
We can’t think of a better designer to include in our we heart London round-up than Alexander McQueen. This Sarah Burton-designed patent-leather box clutch is not only very on trend right now, but it’s practically an instant classic you’ll be thrilled to pull out for years to come.

5. Forever 21 red glitter nail polish, $3, forever21.com
Who says you need to spend a lot to show your support. A little glitter nail polish is tons of fun to wear and even better if you can manage some great nail art (glitter French tip maybe?).

6. Camilla and Marc Tiny Dancer Sweater, $266, shopbop.com
We realize we’ve been pretty literal when it comes to our London-inspired clothes and accessories, however if you want to show your colours without flying a flag, we suggest this crew-neck striped sweater that will also transition well into the fall and winter.
