Lonely Planet deems this South American country one of the best spots to drop your bags in 2017. And it’s not hard to understand why. Colombia is having a revival of sorts. Once ravaged by civil unrest, a newly calmed society means that scouting out amazing culture and food (Bogotá is a great place to start) and exploring awe-inspiring wilderness are easier and more inviting for everyday travellers.
