Ten years isn’t the typical length of time it takes to open a hotel, but when you’re opening one in an UNESCO Heritage Site that also happens to be in a mountain range, it’s not exactly an easy task. Found in the Italian Dolomites, Mountain Lodge sits almost 6,000 feet above sea level, and was built on a former hotel site that dates back to 1938.
Set to open this July, 2014, this chic 30-bedroom lodge is the fourth property by Adler Resorts. Located in the middle of the piste between Ortisei and Alpe di Siusi, and within walking distance of the lift station, makes it very convenient for guests who want access to the mountains by foot or skis, year-round.
The main lodge contains a luxe lounge with open fireplace, spacious sun terrace, restaurant, wellness and spa facilities, infinity pool and 18 guest suites, all with panoramic views of the Dolomites. Behind the main building are 12 south-facing chalets, built higher up the slope to ensure uninterrupted views. The private chalets are particularly special, having been made from local spruce wood to help create an authentic mountain feel. Guests can enjoy views snuggled up by their fireplace or by stepping out onto the private balcony.
All-year round, Mountain Lodge is the perfect retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. From biking and hiking in the summer months to skiing and skating in the summer, there is plenty to do right outside your doors.
Room rates start at Euros 207 per person per night and include soft drinks and a selection of Italian wine and liquor, as well as access to the spa and wellness facilities. Guests can also enjoy a full list of activities, including guided skiing, hiking and mountain biking, and sunset yoga.
