Sometimes the last thing you want to do on a beach vacation is anything. At all. Sometimes, what you really need to do is absolutely nothing but sit on a beach, drink in hand, wide-brimmed hat perched and eyes closed. For that we’ve rounded up the best Travel & Style Magazine approved beaches that you’ll never want to leave.
Turks & Caicos
This Caribbean island is known to have some of the best beaches in the world. Since the actual island has very little in the way of vegetation (you can count rainforest activities out here), the main attraction and best part of the island are the white sand beaches that also come with the prettiest turquoise waters. Try Parrot Cay for loads of privacy and to celebrity watch. With a view like that, who would ever want to leave?
Miami
Forget the party aspect of Miami or South Beach. For a super quick jaunt away from the wintery cold, Miami’s beaches are perfect for sitting and soaking up the rays (with sunscreen applied, of course). Forget about work, stress and drink plenty of frosty mojitos. Hit up Virginia Key beach for the most privacy or if you’re into people watching, Lummus Park Beach on South Beach has just about every type of person.
Cook Islands
The scattering of islands off the coast of New Zealand are all spectacular in their own right, but when you’re looking for the best beaches, the Cook Islands are where you need to go. The north side of the island of Rarotonga comes with lagoons, bays and amazing opportunities to surf and snorkel if you want.
Grenada
The Caribbean’s spice island also comes with some pretty impressive beach options too. One of the quieter islands in terms of tourism, Grenada is ideal for grabbing a beach lounge chair and taking in the tropical breeze. Grande Anse beach is the by far the most popular, but if seclusion is more what you’re after Morne Rouge Bay doesn’t come with any water sports shops, boutiques or food – just one hotel (Gem Beach Resort), so you know you’ll get some quiet time. If you do feel adventurous, Grenada has some of the best snorkeling, especially at La Sagesse beach (a tucked away bay with calm waters ideal for spotting fish.
Seychelles
If the beaches are good enough for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to honeymoon on, they have our vote for the perfect place to veg out too. These ultra-secluded islands off the coast of east Africa are luxe, hidden gems that guarantee privacy, perfect waters and some of the best beaches on the planet. Anse Source d’Argent is one of the most photographed beaches with its pink sand on the island of La Digue.
Myanmar
Go completely off the radar with a week long vacation in Myanmar – where some of the world’s best beaches are just waiting for a beach towel and a good book. Ngapali along the Bay of Bengal is a beach that has largely been untouched. If nature is your main reason to sit back and relax this 3 kilometre white sand beach will provide some of the best views – and one of the best spots to really disconnect.
