Kérastase Aura Botanica Eau de Vagues, kerastase.ca, $43
Say hello to my new go-to favourite for any time I want to create that beach-y, summer wave look. This beach spray from Kérastase has sugar rather than salt in it. The results? That volumous, piecey, textured look minus the crunch, dryness and damage to the ends of your hair. And for anyone who is looking to keep their hair longer, and still have beach waves, this is perfect for you.
Ouai Wave Spray, Sephora.ca, $32
I’ve long been a fan of Jen Atkin’s hairline Ouai, especially this beach waves spray. It provides just the right amount of texture and volume. And added bonus, the scent of her hair products is divine. I usually spritz some of this on and forego any other fragrance.
Bumble and bumble Surf Infusion, bumbleandbumble.ca, $34
One of the best originators of the beach wave spray is Bumble and bumble. Just enough salt in the formulation with added oils to give definition, but not enough to leave your ends dry and damaged. A few spritzes and perfect beach waves are yours.
Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray, Sephora.com, $30
Tousled texture with the added benefits of argan oil being infused into the product makes this a classic for summer (or tropical) hair. The argan oil gives your hair an extra kick of shine and moisture to cut back on any damage. I love to use it post beach or pool dip to create those perfect beach waves.
Herbivore Sea Mist Coconut + Sea Salt Beach Wave Hair Mist, Sephora.com, $25
If you truly do want your hair to look like you just took a stroll by the sea (next to Nantucket, perhaps?), then this is the mist for you. Infused with coconut and sea salt, you get the waves without anything too crunchy. The coconut adds in extra nourishing hydration to go with the texture-enhancing sea salt.
