The Vibe: Staying in Tribeca means you get to see New York from the local side of things. The area is home to chic town homes, actors and actresses and a thriving film scene. So to have a restaurant in this area means you have to be not only good, but meet the standards of a stylish and high-end palette, without a touch of pretentiousness. Landmarc’s second location in Tribeca does just that with it’s strong menu and perfect location.

The Facts: Acclaimed NYC chef and restaurateur Marc Murphy opened Landmarc in Tribeca in 2004 and has been reaping in the rave reviews ever since. One of the best features? The 300 bottle wine list (get ready to spend some time perusing it before dinner) and the 100 half bottle list, follows Murphy’s believe that great food should always be accompanied by a great bottle of wine (and we couldn’t’ agree more). Open Monday to Friday 11am to 12am for lunch, dinner and late night, and Saturday to Sunday 11am to 12am for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night.

The Experience: To get the most out of Landmarc’s atmosphere, dinner is in order. As soon as you step through the doors to the dimly lit restaurant and sit down, you’ll be welcomed by an extensive wine list (We’re talking 300 bottle and 100 half bottle options to peruse through so make sure you give yourself some extra time). Daily pasta specials

Start With: Shaved asparagus & oven dried tomato flatbread
, $14
While you’re deciding on what wine to settle on munching on this crispy, flavorful flat bread is the perfect pairing. Topped with fontina cheese, chili flakes and red onion, it’s definitely calling for a red wine.

Entree With: The strip steak, $35
Landmarc is known for doing meat dishes extremely well. And while we adore their pasta dishes, it just wouldn’t be right to not suggest a steak. What sets their steaks apart? Perfectly grilled and topped with your favourite sauce (green peppercorn, shallot bordelaise, chimichurri, butter maitre d’hotel, béarnaise) and served up with classic frites and seasoned greens.

Finish With: The cone, $4
The perfect way to finish off an elegant meal? With an ice cream cone! Top a crunchy waffle cone with mint chocolate chip ice cream or coconut sorbet to end your meal. Then order a box of homemade caramels to take on the road with you.

Table to Book: Avoid tables at the back close to the washroom and next to the bustling kitchen. Tables at the front by the window are cozy and have just enough room.

Getting There: The closest stop along the subway is Fraklin Street along the 1 line, or the Canal Street stop on the A, C, E lines.

Insider Tip: The specials rarely disappoint, so make sure you get them from your server.
