What Does Breakfast Look Like Around the World?

One video sums up what people all over the globe eat for breakfast – some may surprise you!

world-breakfastWe’re not going to lie. Breakfast is definitely our favourite meal of the day. Even better if it is in the form of brunch. And it’s also one of our favourite meals to eat while travelling. It’s always interesting to see what different cultures nosh on to get their day started. Espresso and pastries in Italy, fresh yogurt and local berries in Scandinavian countries, a good old fry-up in England (eggs, sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, rashers – the works!), and rice and hot soups in Asia. It’s also varied (not just eggs and toast here!), but all so good.

This nearly 2-minute video sums up what is considered a good breakfast around the world – any spots you see that you can’t wait to try out?

All might not be spot on for what people actually eat in these countries, but it’s still fun to see.

Where has been your favourite breakfast? We definitely think strawberries on a crunchy baguette with ricotta cheese in California tops our list. As does yogurt with crunchy granola, linden berries, blueberries and strawberries from Finland. And one of our most recent favourites? Creamy, piping hot porridge with honey, cream and blackberries in Dublin. Yum.
